Shilo Sanders Shows Tampa Bay Some Love

The casual football fan may not be familiar with a lot of undrafted free agent signings throughout the NFL. However, most are familiar with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers recent signing, former Colorado safety, Shilo Sanders.

Sanders, the son of former great NFL cornerback Deion Sanders, who also would serve has his head coach for Colorado, recently signed with the Buccaneers following the 2025 NFL Draft.

Sanders played for six seasons in college football, spending four of those playing for his father at Jackson State, and then transferring to Colorado. He had a strong showing in his final season with the Buffaloes, where he racked up 67 total tackles, along with 2 pass deflections, a sack and one forced fumble. He did go undrafted, but would prove to be a solid option in the defensive backfield.

Shilo is also not your typical 20 or 21 year old rookie. Because of the time he spent in college, he comes into the league at 25 years old. He had a strong showing in mini-camp, and wants to make Tampa his home.

Sanders actually recently spoke on a livestream about living in Tampa, where he had this to say,

“Am I liking Tampa? I love Tampa,” said. “I’m not going to lie, Tampa actually is, like living here now, Tampa is one of the best places to live."

He is definitely going to have his work cut out for him to make the team, but it does sound like Sanders could really enjoy being in Tampa Bay for the long haul, should he continue to impress in offseason workouts.
