Sooners recruit keeps it real regarding what he noticed the most at his visit in Oklahoma

The Oklahoma Sooners will almost always have great defenses while under Brent Venables. But the offenses haven't always been there, as we saw last season.

The offense has had its fair share of a makeover this offseason, but they need to keep their foot on the gas when it comes to improving that side of the ball this next season, but also for future seasons. They cannot afford to have another season like they did last year. So, to make sure that they don't, they are recruiting some of the best offensive weapons in the country.

This last week, they hosted a few wide receivers, including Jayden Petit.

Jayden Petit enjoyed his Sooners visit

Jayden Petit is a four-star wide receiver in the Class of 2026 from Naples, Florida, which, admittedly, makes it harder for the Sooners to get him because of the location and other schools that want him. He recently transferred from First Baptist Academy to Naples St. John Neumann for his senior year.

At 6'2" and 180 pounds, Petit has good size and strong hands, making him effective at catching contested passes, though he’s not the fastest; that's not always the most important thing.

Petit is a top target in recruiting, with interest from schools like Oklahoma, Missouri, and Wisconsin. He visited Oklahoma recently on a major trip, and they impressed him greatly.

"I’m a priority... They love to work hard and they love to win [at Oklahoma]."

Currently uncommitted, Petit is weighing his options carefully, and his decision will impact the 2026 recruiting rankings. His senior season at St. John Neumann will be closely watched as he continues to draw attention from major college programs, and if the Sooners continue to show him how much they want him and how much they care about winning, they could have the formula to land a guy who has elite potential.
