TCU Horned Frogs Key to the Season

Don’t let the running game get stuffed.
The Horned Frogs don’t have to dominate on the ground, but everything else works - especially QB Josh Hoover - when they’re at least decent. They didn’t get to 200 yards all season, but they went 8-0 when getting to 110 yards and 9-1 when running for 100.

TCU Horned Frogs Key Player

Coltin Deery, C Sr.
After starting out his career at Maryland, he’s been a part of a the TCU interior over the last two seasons seeing plenty of time at both guard and center. With star center James Brockermeyer leaving, it’s up to the 6-4, 325-pounder to be the leader and anchor in the middle.

TCU Horned Frogs Top Transfer, Biggest Transfer Loss

Top Transfer In: Jordan Dwyer, WR Jr.
A terror for the Vandals as last year went on, Dwyer came up with over 100 yards in each of his last three games and five times in the last ten. He won’t have to be a true No. 1, but there will be times when he makes plays in bunches.

Top Transfer Out: James Brockermeyer, C Sr.
You have to be really, really good to be Mario Cristobal’s center. He might not be the biggest blocker, but he knows what he’s doing as a leader and steady all-around blocker, and now he’s the main man in the middle of the Miami line.

TCU Horned Frogs Key Game

at Arizona State, Sept. 27
It’s obviously a total cliché, but in a be-the-best-you-beat-the-best way, TCU starts out the Big 12 season on the road against Arizona State. The Horned Frogs are 0-2 all-time against the Sun Devils, losing in 1974 and 1975 by a combined score of 70-17.

TCU Horned Frogs 2025 Season Prediction, Win Total, What Will Happen

Every game in the Big 12 will be a fight this season - TCU has to be great again in close games.

It might be a push to get back to an 8-4 regular season, but the offensive pop is in place and the defense should be just good enough to hold up. It won’t be easy with a slate that starts at North Carolina, has a game against SMU, and won’t be easy from then on.

There’s a date at Arizona State, but it’s a huge break to - this year - miss Texas Tech, and improved Arizona, Kansas, Oklahoma State, and Utah teams.

TCU will be a factor, but a tough finishing kick with three road games in the last four will be too much to get to the Big 12 title game.

Set The TCU Horned Frogs Win Total At … 6.5

Likely Wins: Abilene Christian

50/50 Games: at Arizona State, Baylor, at BYU, Cincinnati, Colorado, at Houston, Iowa State, at Kansas State, at North Carolina, SMU, at West Virginia

Likely Losses: No sure thing losses
