Texas at Tennessee odds: Opening point spread revealed

Texas and Tennessee are one of the marquee matchups of Week 4 of the college football season and the odds, via the Polymarket App, have been revealed. The kickoff time and television options are also available.

As it stands, Texas is a favorite over Tennessee in Knoxville. The Longhorns have a 67% chance to win this game and a 50% chance to cover the spread of 5.5 points, per traders on Polymarket. Texas and Tennessee are both 3-0 on the season.

Both Tennessee and Texas were big favorites in Week 3 over Kennesaw State and UTSA, respectively. But despite being expected to blow their doors off, Texas only won 30-6, something Steve Sarkisian isn’t apologizing for.

“I’m not gonna apologize for winning by 24 points,” Sarkisian said. “We beat a team 30-6 that was undefeated that’s probably gonna go win, I don’t know, somewhere between eight, nine, 10, 11 games. Who knows what they end up winning.

“And I’m not going to apologize for playing great defense. So many times we get in here, we want to talk offense, offense, offense. Our defense kins of just kicked their a--. I’m excited about that. And we should be excited about that .. Not an easy week from the highs of last week’s ballgame to some of the stuff we had to deal with this week and knowing what’s coming this week. That’s just the psyche. That’s human nature.”

Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel wanted to see smart football out of the Vols against Kennesaw State Saturday. Especially with Texas looming on their schedule, they did not want to overlook a single opponent.

“Ultimately, good win,” Heupel said. “Offensively, just have to be better in the red zone. But there were some real positives, too. Defensively, ultimately, kept them out of the end zone. Gave them some things in the early part of the game — first drive. But all in all, a good night.

“Wanted to see us play smarter.Penalties last week were egregious. We did play smarter tonight. There were some things in our communication defensively early that we can better in. Offensively, a few things. We are going to get better from this tape, too, understand who we are playing next week. That was one of the main things.”
