Texas A&M Star Leaves Game In Ambulance After 'Terrifying' Play vs. Notre Dame

A fun and competitive first half between No. 8 Notre Dame and No. 16 Texas A&M took a terrifying turn as one of the Aggies' star players suffered a scary-looking injury.

Late in the second quarter, Aggies defender Bryce Anderson attempted to tackle Notre Dame tight end Eli Raridon. But he hit Raridon at a very awkward angle and when everyone else got up, Anderson remained face down on the field, seemingly knocked unconscious.

Anderson did not move for many minutes while being attended to by the medical staff. It got so bad that players and coaches from both teams got down on their knees and began praying for him.

Eventually, a stretcher had to be brought out and a brace had to be placed around Anderson's neck before he could be carted off.

There was a silver lining amid the terrible scene though.

To the delight and applause of everyone in Notre Dame Stadium, Anderson lifted his hand to give a thumbs up to the crowd and his teammates.

Fans on social media have been offering their thoughts and prayers to Anderson in the aftermath of his terrifying injury:

"Scary moment in Texas A&M vs. Notre Dame game. Bryce Anderson is down! Prayers for Bryce Anderson," one user wrote.

"Texas A&M has gathered to pray for teammate Bryce Anderson who remains down on the ground while being treated by medical personnel. Notre Dame players have continued to take a knee," another wrote.

"Prayers up for Texas A&M DB Bryce Anderson. He was out after going to make a tackle and had to be carted off. He gave a thumbs up as he was carted off."

"The team went on the field to pray together. Now they just embraced Bryce on the stretcher before they take him off the field. Bryce gave a thumbs up while being carted off, so hoping for the best. Shoutout to the Irish players and fans for their prayers and class as well."

"Prayers to Bryce man, one of the nicest players I’ve gotten to talk to and know, throughout recruiting and his time at A&M. Great person."

Our hearts go out to Anderson. We hope he makes a full recovery.
