The Texas Longhorns received positive news as they prepare to take on the Arizona State Sun Devils in the Peach Bowl. Both of its injured starting offensive linemen appear set to return in the College Football Playoff.
Per Orangebloods' Anwar Richardson, veteran center Jake Majors and starting tackle Cam Williams are "expected to play against Arizona State."
Undoubtedly, the two linemen have played a huge role in the success of the Texas offense. The two helped the Longhorns reach 292 rushing yards against Clemson in the first round of the playoff, although both were sidelined for some of the game.
Texas backups fared well in the absence of Majors and Williams. Backup linemen Cole Hutson and Trevor Goosby kept the offense moving forward with two of the Longhorns' starters sidelined. Albeit, Texas will be closer to full strength with Majors and Williams back in the lineup.
The Longhorns' next opponent enters the Peach Bowl on a six-game winning streak. That said, Arizona State has reached a different gear in the last two games. After a 49-7 rivalry game win over the Arizona Wildcats, the Sun Devils defeated the Iowa State Cyclones in the Big 12 championship, 45-19.
Majors and Williams will look to help the Longhorns cool off the Sun Devils and advance to the College Football Playoff Semifinal. The teams will play for a shot at the semifinal on Jan. 1.
