Aaron E. Martinez/American-Statesman / USA TODAY NETWORK

With the Texas Longhorns fighting for a spot in the SEC title game and College Football Playoff, fans may forget that at the end of the day the players have personal lives as well.

As revealed via Instagram, star defensive tackle Vernon Broughton and his wife Camille announced that they are expecting a baby. The announcement came before No. 3 Texas' (9-1) Week 13 clash with the Kentucky Wildcats (4-6), and amid Broughton's best season of his career in Austin.

The fifth-year senior and Houston native has already posted a career high 20 total tackles, one pass deflection, one sack and a forced fumble.

Camille also revealed in the caption of the post that the baby is expected to arrive in May. The couple was married back in April.

As for the Longhorns, they are looking to keep their postseason aspirations alive this weekend as they currently sit atop of the SEC, but suffering a loss could derail both their chances at making the SEC title game or the College Football Playoff.

Their game against Kentucky is set to kick off at 3:30 ET, and will air on ABC/ESPN+.

According to ESPN, the Longhorns are favored by 20.5 points and have a 94.7% chance of winning.
