With junior days, spring games and visits happening across the country for Class of 2027 recruits, commitments are starting to speed up. Here are the three most important commitments which occurred this weekend (4/17-4/19).
The skinny: It has been a slow start for new head coach Alex Golesh’s recruiting career at Auburn, but Lamons commitment may be a sign of things to come. The four-star tight end from Brooks County (Ga.) chose the Tigers over Alabama, Florida and Florida State
Lamons initially committed to Texas A&M but reopened his process in late 2025. He immediately became a priority for Coach Golesh after his arrival in Auburn, which led to his commitment on Saturday during his campus visit for the school’s spring game. This commitment was especially important because Auburn had lost tight end commitment Trae Proctor a few days ago, after he flipped to Kentucky.
The skinny: Stevens flipped his commitment from Miami to LSU after a standout visit to Baton Rouge. While Stevens flipping to another school wasn’t a surprise, grabbing a blue-chip Florida talent who is deep inside Miami’s recruiting territory is a major victory for Lane Kiffin and his staff.
Known for his elite speed, Stevens had been actively looking at other schools despite being committed to Miami for more than a year. Stevens played his first two high school seasons at St. Thomas Aquinas before transferring to Chaminade-Madonna. In his three seasons he has totaled 90 receptions for 1,129 yards and 10 touchdowns.
The skinny: As a top-50 national recruit and the No. 1 player in Connecticut, Brown adds elite physical tools (6-foot-6, 235 lbs) to Lincoln Riley’s defense. His commitment was a major statement, showing that the Trojans are a contender for elite talent from coast-to-coast.
Brown had trimmed his list of top schools down to USC, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Ole Miss and Notre Dame before committing to the Trojans. USC did have one unique advantage, as his grandfather lives in the area.
