Top 10 Wide Receivers in the Big Ten

The Big Ten has been led by Ohio State with the top wide receivers, but several other teams have talented wide receivers as well. When compiling this list, Ohio State led the Big Ten with three of the top 10 wide receivers in the conference. Penn State added two players through the transfer portal that should help their team. Below are the top 10 wide receivers returning in the Big Ten.

No. 1: Jeremiah Smith, Ohio State

Last season, Smith is one of the best freshmen I have ever seen in college football. His ability to make plays all over the field is impressive. He was an All-American in several publications. He had 76 catches and 15 touchdowns in helping Ohio State win the national championship. He is coming back for another year and should continue to dominate.

No. 2: Evan Stewart, Oregon

After transferring from Texas A&M, Stewart had a good year, but I think he has more to prove next year. He caught 48 passes and five touchdowns, but I expect he will have a bigger season next year.

No. 3: Elijah Sarratt, Indiana

Sarratt is a good wide receiver for Indiana who transferred in from James Madison and had a strong year for the Hoosiers. He caught 53 passes with eight touchdowns. I expect he will have another strong season for Indiana next year.

No. 4: Carnell Tate, Ohio State

Yes, another Ohio State wide receiver. Tate is an absolute monster at wide receiver, and he just gets overshadowed by Smith. He had a solid 53 catches with four touchdowns. I expect his production will go up next year.

No. 5: Denzel Boston, Washington

Boston is a legit wide receiver for Washington. He had 63 catches with nine touchdowns last year. He is a good wide receiver who has a ton of skill. It wouldn’t surprise me if he is one of the all-conference wide receivers.

No. 6: Trebor Pena, Penn State

Pena had a great season last year for Syracuse. So, he used the opportunity to jump into the transfer portal and transfer to Penn State. He caught 84 passes and nine touchdowns for Syracuse last year. He is an explosive wide receiver who should immediately upgrade the position for the Nittany Lions.

No. 7: Hudson Clement, Illinois

Clement had a good year for West Virginia and has since transferred to Illinois. He has a chance to have a breakout season and make a big impact for an Illinois team trying to improve on 10 wins last year. Clement was a good transfer pick-up for Illinois, who should be a consistent receiver for Illini this season.

No. 8: Kyron Hudson, USC

Hudson is the second Penn State transfer wide receiver on this list. Hudson did not have big numbers at USC, but the hope is that he will play for a better quarterback in Drew Allar, and it will lead to bigger production.

No. 9: Dane Key, Nebraska

Key had a good year for Kentucky when he had 47 catches to lead the Wildcats. He entered the transfer portal, and Nebraska beat out Georgia to land Key. He should be a big addition to the passing game and to help quarterback Dylan Raiola

No. 10: Brandon Inniss, Ohio State

Inniss is a star in the making for Ohio State. He has a chance to make an impact this season for the Buckeyes after Emeka Egbuka is off to the NFL. He should be the starting slot receiver for the Buckeyes.
