Top SEC Games and Where to Watch Them
Petre Thomas-Imagn Images

This is a list of the top three SEC Games and where to watch them on your TV or devices. This is Week 2, and I’ve narrowed it down to three games. For good measure, an Honorable Mention (some might call it a hate-watch). The top three games I have hot linked (click to open) the broadcasting website. The other teams I have listed where you can find them, all based on official informational sites. I’m also providing a handy ‘Plan Your Day’ feature so that you might find that SEC goodness the whole day.

3. USF at Florida. South Florida is unranked but has a 34-7 dominant victory over (then) #25 Boise State in Game 1. They use a 4-2-5 scheme that forced three turnovers last week. Florida hopes DJ Lagway can continue to throw well, as he had three touchdown passes last week. Despite the USF performance last week, the recruiting edge and size/speed of a top-tier SEC team favors Florida for the dominant win. Viewing time: 4:15 Eastern; SECNETWORK

2. Ole Miss at Kentucky. If this was later in the year wouldn’t be a great game. But it’s the first time for Ole Miss going into a hostile SEC environment. And the scale of transfers and freshman recruits means that’s always a question mark. Ole Miss looked solid, totally dragging Georgia State 63-7. Plus, Kentucky’s new quarterback Zach Calzada looked inaccurate, as they barely defeated Toledo. Look for Kiffin to get Ole Miss in the right space to notch a win by two to three touchdowns. Viewing Time 3:15 Eastern, ESPN Network.

1.Michigan at Oklahoma. Is this a fever dream? A top-ranked Big 10 team on the road, early in the season, against a top-tier SEC team? Well, technically in 2024 Texas was SEC, and it beat Michigan 31-12. It was prior to any actual SEC matchups that year for Texas. Both teams burst out of the gate in Week 1. John Mateer threw for almost 400 yards for Oklahoma. #1 National Recruits Bryce Underwood threw for 3 TDs for Michigan. Definitely the best game of the day for the SEC, maybe for the whole country. Viewing Time 7:15 Eastern, ABC Network. Also available on ESPN3, (since it’s an ESPN game for ABC) and that means Sling Orange has the game. If you don’t want a whole year, you can use Sling to get a day pass for $4.99.

Honorable Mention: Hate-watch UL Monroe at Alabama. Has it been decades since “hotseat” and “University of Alabama” have been mentioned together? If we’re taking truth serum, I’m sure UL Monroe hated seeing U of A upset. Coach DeBoer will have Bryant-Denny stadium rocking with the constant effort from his team this week. It won’t kill the talk; but it’ll delay it until a real SEC foe comes calling. Viewing Time 7:45 Eastern Time.

Plan your day Bonus Points if you watch the early game. Utah State at Texas A&M. One of two power conference teams Utah State plays this year. Texas A&M will certainly make them see why. Out recruited, too much NIL, and a homefield advantage. Viewing Time: SECNetwork 12:45 Central.

Those are your top three SEC games. Hope y’all enjoy the Saturday of SEC might. Follow me at @ajayxemem on X for regular SEC updates.
