Travis Hunter Is Paying 'At Least' 10-15 Players On Colorado's Roster

We've known for the better part of several years that Colorado cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter is one of the most versatile players in college football. But in the eyes of one person close to him, he's one of the most charitable too.

Appearing on the Zero 2 Sixty podcast, Deion Sanders Jr. revealed that Hunter doesn't take "a cent" from Colorado's NIL collective. Sanders boasted that Hunter gives the money he's made through NIL to his teammates instead, with Sanders estimating it's split among 10 to 15 of his teammates.

"You know he receives no NIL from the collective?" Sanders said. "He's one of the biggest donors to the collective, meaning he's paying a lot of other people's NIL on this team... He's paying at least 10 to 15 guys' NIL on the team from his pocket. He's donated his own money."

Hunter's selflessness may very well have helped Colorado enjoy their best season in years. Colorado went 9-3 this year, their best season in eight years, and were one game away from playing in the Big 12 Championship Game and possibly even the College Football Playoff. He will leave the school as a legend.

It's hard to tell exactly how much money Hunter is turning down to give to his teammates, but Colorado's various collectives are worth hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars. That's good money he's leaving on the table for his teammates.

That said, the money he'd earn trough NIL likely pales in comparison to what he'll be earning in about six months when he goes to the NFL. Hunter is widely expected to be the top non-quarterback in the draft.

Assuming he gets a contract similar to Marvin Harrison Jr., the first non-quarterback selected in the 2024 NFL Draft, he stands to sign a deal worth upwards of $35 million. Though it could be substantially more depending on the exact selection he gets taken with.

Now that's money that Hunter won't have to share with any of his teammates. And it may only be the beginning as far as endorsements that he can pick up along the way.
