Whether NFL general managers believe Colorado Buffaloes star Travis Hunter can be a wide receiver and cornerback at the next level remains to be seen. If so, even when the 21-year-old is drafted, the team must clarify its plan for him.
Hunter is projected to the New York Giants at No. 3 overall in Luke Easterling's latest NFL mock draft. In such a scenario, the 6-foot, 188-pound receiver would play alongside Malik Nabers, the Giants' Pro Bowl rookie who delivered 109 receptions, 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns as a rookie last year.
"If the top two quarterbacks are off the board, the Giants will have to roll with a veteran bridge and perhaps a developmental prospect later in the draft," wrote Easterling.
It remains to be seen who will pass the ball to Nabers and the rest of the Giants' pass-catchers, though. The only quarterback on the roster is Tommy DeVito.

However, in the third round of Easterling's mock draft, he predicts that New York will add Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe.
Milroe ran an unofficial 4.3 40-yard dash at Alabama's Pro Day on Wednesday. While known for his dual-threat prowess, the 6-foot-2, 225-pound signal-caller took a step back as a passer in his last season with the Crimson Tide.
Two seasons ago, he had a better yards per attempt average, more touchdowns, fewer interceptions and a higher passer rating compared to his 2024 stats.
The Giants would have to sign a big-time free-agent veteran quarterback this offseason to pair with DeVito and a developmental option like Milroe to get the most out of Hunter right away.
