Earlier this week the Colorado Buffaloes announced Travis Hunter capped his incredible 2024 season with yet another honor.

He became the first player in Colorado program history to be named a Unanimous First-Team All-American and First-Team Academic All-American, which he earned this week as part of the Academic Team Member of the Year selection.

"Travis Hunter was named the Academic All-American Team Member of the Year for Division I football as a repeat first-team Academic All-American, College Sports Communicators announced Tuesday," Colorado said in its announcement.

"He is the third student-athlete at CU to win one of the highest academic honors in the country, the second football player alongside Jim Hansen, who was honored in 1992, and the two are joined by CU ski team member Hanna Abrahamsson, who won the At-Large team distinction last season."

"In 2024, Travis Hunter became just the second defensive player to win the Heisman Trophy in the award’s history and the second from Colorado. The honor capped a season in which he was named the AP Player of the Year and Walter Camp Player of the Year, and won both the Bednarik (defense) and Biletnikoff (receiver) awards. He was also named to the Walter Camp All-America first team on both offense and defense — a first in the 135-year existence of the oldest All-America team in the nation," the Academic All-America Team announced.

Following the latest announcement, Hunter's GPA at Colorado resurfaced as part of the announcement.

"Hey I didn't hear much about the 3.79 GPA of Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter until finding out now. That should be mentioned more when covering him," one person pointed out.

Hunter is off to the NFL as part of the 2025 draft where he'll be one of the top picks in late April.
