USC Football: Expert Predicts Trojans' Bowl Game
USA TODAY Sports

The USC Trojans finished the season 7-5. If you're waking up from a coma since August, you're reading that right; trust us. That is no joke, even though we wish it were.

The Trojans were set to compete for a national championship; instead, with seven wins in the season, they are eligible for a bowl game; how the mighty have fallen. No, they aren't eligible for a major six New Year's Eve bowl or college football bowl game, but they are for the other bowl games.

CBS Sports college football expert Jerry Palm predicted each bowl matchup, and he has your USC Trojans in the Las Vegas Bowl taking on their future Big 10 opponents, the Maryland Terrapins.

The Trojans were last in the Las Vegas Bowl a decade ago when they faced and beat the Fresno State Bulldogs under then-interim head coach Clay Helton. Former USC quarterback Cody Kessler was under center for the Trojans that game and won the Las Vegas Bowl MVP.

Overall, the Trojans are 1-1 in this bowl game, and if they happen to land in this game, they'll look to pick up the win while showing the Terrapins what they're in store for next season.

Not exactly where we thought the Trojans would be, but that's the way the ball rolls at times.
