Utah Lands Breakout Utah State Transfer WR Otto Tia

After losing out on talented Tulsa wide receiver Joseph Williams to Colorado, the Utes have gone out and acquired a breakout in-state star, further strengthening Devon Dampier's pool of targets.

Utah State Aggies' wider receiver Otto Tia has become the latest transfer portal acquisition for the Utes as they continue their strong offensive shopping spree. Tia announced his commitment with an Instagram post captioned "Heading down south."

The 6-foot-4 220-pound wideout spent his first three collegiate seasons in Logan, Utah, but after only recording a combined six receptions for 71 yards in 2022 and 2023, Tia had himself a breakout season in 2024.

A native of Layton, Utah, Tia recorded 44 receptions for 434 yards and seven touchdowns throughout the 2024 campaign and was a bright spot for the Aggies despite their 4-8 record.

With the move, the former Northridge High School product becomes the tallest wide receiver in the room, taking the place of now-graduated wide receiver Munir McClain.

This move is a massive addition to the squad for Jason Beck as it now provides Dampier with a jump-ball threat out wide, complimenting the height of the projected starter at tight end, Landen King, and providing a multi-level problem for defenses to deal with.
