Jayden de Laura is transferring from Washington State to play for the Arizona Wildcats, the quarterback announced Monday night on Twitter.
During his sophomore season in 2021, de Laura threw for 2,789 yards, a Pac-12 leading 23 TDs and nine interceptions. He ended the year with just 47 passing yards on 17 passes against Central Michigan in the Sun Bowl before sitting out the second half with a leg injury.
He announced over the weekend that he was entering the transfer portal and took just two days to choose Arizona. The Wildcats finished the 2021 season with a 1-11 record, winning only a November game against California. A trio of quarterbacks got reps at quarterback for Arizona with freshman Will Plummer taking most of the snaps, but he finished the season with six touchdowns and nine interceptions.
Earlier Monday, Incarnate Word quarterback Cameron Ward announced he is transferring to Washington State. Ward put up gaudy stats at the FCS level, finishing his sophomore year with 47 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
