Quarterback Kyle McCord had a record-breaking season in his one year at Syracuse. Including the bowl game, McCord set the ACC single-season passing yards record. During the regular season, he was the NCAA passing yards leader and set a Syracuse record with 4,326 passing yards. McCord completed 65.8% of his passes during the regular season and threw 29 touchdowns while rushing for three more.
