With Kyron Drones and Bhayshul Tuten both out with injury, Collin Schlee got the start at quarterback for the Hokies and Tech built a 21-3 lead before Kyle McCord, LeQuint Allen and the Orange rallied for a 38-31 overtime win. McCord finished the game 24-35 for 280 passing yards with 2 touchdowns and an interception in the win. Allen had a tremendous day, carrying the ball 21 times for 121 yards and 3 scores, including the final 2 touchdowns of the game. Trebor Pena once again had a great game and finished with 7 catches and 83 yards while Justus Ross-Simmons had a bit of a breakout game with his first 4 catches on the season including 2 touchdowns. Schlee completed 16-24 passes for 260 total yards with a passing and a rushing score in the loss.
