During a recent camp with the Wisconsin football staff, an impressive 2028 athlete had the chance to show-out in front of coach Jordan Reid.

Alijah Valeri, a 2028 wide receiver from Appleton North High School, was just recently on campus for an exciting camp opportunity. The talented athlete has been attending Badgers youth camps since he was a “little kid” which made the event “extra special” to Valeri. The recruit had previously been to many small camps, but pounced on the opportunity to work with the Wisconsin football staff.

When asked about the opportunity to attend the Wisconsin camp, Valeri stated, “To come back and showcase my skills at this level meant a lot to me.” Valeri added, “It was also awesome seeing the culture and facilities up close, especially having my teammate Ben Wenzel already committed [to Wisconsin].”

Wenzel previously committed to Wisconsin in the 2026 class just days after visiting and receiving a scholarship offer.

Position coach Jordan Reid has quickly become a favorite amongst recruits, especially Valeri during his time at the camp. When asked about Reid, Valeri stated, “I really appreciated how Coach Reid worked with me on drills and one-on-ones, I learned a lot.” Valeri also added that the chance to meet both Reid and coach Luke Fickell was an “awesome” experience that he had looked forward to.

While growing up around the Wisconsin football program and attending youth camps will always be a core memory for Valeri, the recruit is determined to turn previous dreams into realities moving forward.

As mentioned, the recruit noted that the Wisconsin football camp was the biggest camp that he has attended to date. Following the camp, Valeri stated, “I’m mainly focus on getting better and learning as much as I can right now. I just want to keep working on my game, getting stronger, and trying to improve every time I get on the field.” Valeri also added, “I’m also focused on building connections with coaches and just enjoying the whole process.

While Valeri continues to enjoy the process, more schools are likely going to watch the recruit and keep a close eye on the receiver. Standing in at 5-feet-9-inches, and roughly 155-pounds, the receiver is a shifty target with sure hands and great vision. Valeri impressed with multiple off-balance catches during camp which showcased the focus and abilities of the receiver.

Valeri combines his excellent catching ability with sharp footwork and a great release to create a dynamic receiver. The recruit previously mentioned NFL receiver Tank Dell as a professional who he models his game after, and the fast-twitch nature of each receiver is very similar.
