The Baltimore Ravens officially placed DT Michael Pierce on the reserve/retired list on Monday, per the NFL transaction wire. They filled the open roster spot by signing DT John Jenkins, also per the wire. Both moves have been expected for some time.
The Baltimore Ravens lost one of their key pieces in the defensive front this offseason with the retirement of defensive tackle Michael Pierce. Pierce, who played all but eight games of his 99-game career with Baltimore from 2016 to 2024, endured an injured reserve stint this past season due to a calf injury.
The Ravens agreed to terms with veteran nose tackle John Jenkins, the team announced Friday. Jenkins, 35, will replace Michael Pierce, who retired. Jenkins is joining his seventh different team as he enters his 13th NFL season.
The Baltimore Ravens have had one of the fiercest defensive lines in the league over the last few seasons, largely thanks to big nose tackle Michael Pierce.
