Anaya Bangar, the daughter of former India all-rounder Sanjay Bangar, took to Instagram to share a significant update on her future plans and expressed her intention to follow in her father’s footsteps.
“Three months have passed since my surgery, and I have completely recovered,” Anaya said in the video.
“I’ve decided to come back to the cricket field, not as Aryan, but as Anaya,” she added.
“Stay tuned, as I am going to start my journey.”
Anaya also thanked fans for their love and support during her stint on a reality show.
“Thank you so much for supporting me in my successes and struggles.”
Anaya recently uploaded a nostalgic video where Virat Kohli was seen giving her tips.
“Back then, just a kid listening to Virat. Today, I’m fighting for a chance to represent the Indian women’s team. The dream has never changed,” Anaya wrote on Instagram.
Anaya Bangar has asked the ICC and BCCI to back transgender cricketers and help create opportunities for them.
Earlier, Anaya shared a report about her journey after undergoing Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT).
In a recent Instagram video, Anaya confirmed her eligibility to compete in women’s cricket, mentioning her collaboration with Manchester Metropolitan University following a year of HRT.
Anaya revealed that the university carried out several tests to evaluate her muscle strength, endurance, glucose, and oxygen levels, and compared them with those of cisgender female athletes.
