Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma added over 100 runs for the first wicket in the chase of 172 against Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Abhishek hit Shaheen Shah Afridi for a six on the first ball of the team’s innings while Gill struck boundaries.

In a tense moment during the third over, Gill struck Shaheen for the second consecutive four towards the cover region and pointed towards the area where the ball went, reminding the fans of the Aamer Sohail vs Venkatesh Prasad incident in the 1996 ODI World Cup.

Gill scored 47 runs off 28 balls before he was dismissed by Faheem Ashraf in the 10th over. The Indian vice-captain amassed 8 boundaries in his entertaining knock.
