Bangladesh batters struggled in front of in-form England bowlers, managing just 178 runs in 49.4 overs. After beating Pakistan in the previous game, Bangladesh were thinking of testing the English side, but the willow holders failed to read the line and length of the rival bowlers.

Sobhana Mostary was the top scorer, amassing 60 runs off 108 balls, laced with 8 boundaries. Sharmin Akhtar posted 30 runs off 52 balls while Rabeya Khan added an unbeaten 43 to the overall total. Captain Nigar Sultana recorded a duck, which impacted her team’s total.

For England, Sophie Ecclestone took three wickets and conceded just 24 runs from her 10 overs, which included three maidens as well.

Linsey Smith, Charlie Dean and Alice Capsey added two scalps each to their impressive bowling figures.

Earlier, England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt won the toss and invited Bangladesh to bat first, a decision that proved correct in the end. Interestingly, Bangladesh would have batted first had the toss gone in their favour.
