Team India’s batting stalwart Virat Kohli produced a brilliant century in Delhi’s Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 opener against Andhra Pradesh at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground 1 in Bengaluru on Wednesday, December 24. Making his first appearance in the tournament since the 2009–10 season, the former captain scored 131 runs off 101 balls.

Although the match was held behind closed doors, preventing fans from watching inside the stadium, some of Kohli’s most dedicated supporters found a way to witness the innings live by climbing a tree outside the venue. Here are a few pictures of fans catching Kohli in action from their elevated vantage point:

Delhi won the toss and chose to field first. Andhra Pradesh posted 298/8 in their 50 overs, powered by Ricky Bhui’s 122 off 105 balls. Simarjeet Singh starred with the ball, claiming a five-wicket haul. Kohli’s century put Delhi in a strong position, but he was eventually dismissed by Satyanarayana Raju, caught by Shaik Rasheed.

Virat Kohli Reaches Major Milestone With 131 Against Andhra

Virat Kohli maintained his brilliant form by scoring a remarkable century against Andhra Pradesh, during which he also reached 16,000 runs in List A cricket in just 330 innings. He became only the second Indian to achieve this milestone, with batting legend Sachin Tendulkar leading the list with 21,999 List A runs in 538 innings.

Kohli is currently in outstanding form. He was named Player of the Series in India’s recent 2-1 ODI series win at home against South Africa, registering consecutive centuries in the first two matches, scoring 135 off 120 balls and 102 off 93 balls.

The experienced batter concluded the series with an unbeaten 65 from 45 deliveries, amassing a total of 302 runs across three innings. India’s next ODI series will be a three-match home contest against New Zealand, starting January 11 at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara.
