India achieved their third ICC Men's T20 World Cup title through Suryakumar Yadav and his team who created historic achievements. The hosts crushed New Zealand by 96 runs in the final and became the first side to win back-to-back championships.
India established themselves as the tournament's most successful team through their latest victory. The enormous victory margin established a new record for the largest win margin observed in T20 World Cup final matches. The achievement allowed SKY to join Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni as members of the exclusive group of Indian cricket captains who achieved victory in a T20 World Cup tournament.
New Zealand won the toss and chose to bowl first. The decision backfired because India began their offensive attack. Abhishek Sharma returned to form in style and smashed a blazing 18-ball fifty, the fastest half-century ever scored in a T20 World Cup final.
Abhishek started the match well while Sanju Samson took center stage. The wicketkeeper-batter scored 89 runs from 46 balls through five fours and eight sixes. The opening partnership between them scored 98 runs within a short time which established the batting rhythm for India.
Ishan Kishan delivered an impressive performance after he scored 54 runs from 25 balls. The Kiwis managed to recover from their difficulties when Jimmy Neesham took three wickets during one over of play. Suryakumar Yadav who served as captain got out without scoring during that time period.
India achieved 203 runs for one wicket within the first 15 overs but their batting performance decreased afterward. The team scored 25 runs during the next 20 balls while losing four players to dismissal. A total close to 300 once looked possible, but even 250 began to appear challenging. Shivam Dube delivered an important performance that included 24 runs during the last over which helped India reach a total of 255 runs.
New Zealand began their batting chase successfully by reaching 30 runs before losing their first wicket. Axar Patel delivered the first breakthrough when he dismissed Finn Allen, who had shown dangerous batting ability, for 9 runs scored off 7 balls.

Tim Seifert continued to battle through the match while his teammates kept getting out. The right-handed batsman achieved his fast scoring ability by hitting 52 runs off 26 balls, which included two fours and five sixes. Seifert and captain Mitchell Santner represented the two players who could most effectively challenge India's batting total.
The Indian cricket team had their bowling performance enhanced by Axar Patel and Jasprit Bumrah who spearheaded the final match. Axar Patel succeeded in taking three wickets during three overs by dismissing Finn Allen Glenn Phillips and Daryl Mitchell at important times.
Bumrah delivered an outstanding spell and finished with four wickets. He dismissed Rachin Ravindra and then he bowled through the lower order to achieve impressive numbers of 4/15 during his four over performance. India controlled the match to such an extent that they assigned the 19th over to Abhishek Sharma who took the last wicket to secure India's third T20 World Cup championship.
