The wait for IPL season 19 is finally over as the Indian Premier League has released the schedule for IPL 2026 Phase 1 and Royal Challengers Bengaluru will lock horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad in the opening encounter at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Now that the schedule is out for phase 1, it is a waiting game for the fans to know when they can book their tickets.
IPL matches are always a sell-out and this is especially true for the matches involving big franchises like the Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and the rest. Therefore, fans who wish to watch the matches live from the stadium have to stay alert and prepare in advance.
Generally, the tickets for the IPL matches are put up for sale a few weeks before the tournament begins and given that the Phase 1 schedule has been released, the tickets for the first set of games are expected to be available for booking from mid-March 2026.
However, the tickets are always released in phases, and the first batch will be put up for sale and this will probably only cover the initial few weeks of the tournament. The remaining tickets will be put up on sale later in the IPL.
The official platforms for buying tickets are BookMyShow and Paytm Insider, although many franchises also sell their tickets through their official websites and app.
Tickets will also be available at the ticket counters in various stadiums across cities. However, tickets for the blockbuster matches will always sell out very quickly and online booking is the better option.
IPL 2026 tickets would vary from stadium to stadium as different cities have different capacities and therefore the demand would also be different and consequently, the prices of the tickets would also be different.
The cheapest tickets at almost all the stadiums will cost relatively less but the price would escalate as the stands move higher and better are the amenities available at the seats and the executive seats are way more expensive compared to the ordinary ones.
Given below is the estimated price range that might be charged at the major venues:
| Stadium | City | Entry-Level Price | Premium/VIP Price |
| Narendra Modi Stadium | Ahmedabad | ₹400 – ₹500 | ₹15,000+ |
| Wankhede Stadium | Mumbai | ₹900 – ₹1,200 | ₹35,000+ |
| M. Chinnaswamy Stadium | Bengaluru | ₹2,100 – ₹2,500 | ₹30,000+ |
| Eden Gardens | Kolkata | ₹400 – ₹600 | ₹25,000+ |
Apart from that, there is a change in the GST slab for the tickets as IPL 2026 tickets would be sold at 40% GST so you would have to pay more than the prices last year.
| Base Ticket Price | 2025 Price (28% GST) | 2026 Price (40% GST) | Increase |
| ₹500 | ₹640 | ₹700 | + ₹60 |
| ₹1,000 | ₹1,280 | ₹1,400 | + ₹120 |
| ₹5,000 | ₹6,400 | ₹7,000 | + ₹600 |
