The IPL 2026 Qualifier 2 is set to be played between Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur on 29th May. The winner of this do or die match will proceed to play against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL 2026 final. While both sides have displayed sparks of excellence throughout the season, it remains to be seen which team can hold its nerve better in Mullanpur on May 29th.
Gujarat Titans are coming off of a disappointing 92 run loss against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Qualifier 1. Chasing a mammoth 255 set by the opposition, the Gujarat Titans were bowled out for 162 in 19.3 overs despite a commendable 68 run knock off of 43 balls from Rahul Tewatia. Both Kagiso Rabada and Jason Holder picked up 2 wickets each but had a difficult time bowling for GT as the entire side struggled to contain the aggressive batting by the Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Rajasthan Royals, on the other hand, are entering this match with immense confidence after registering a dominant 47 run victory over the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator. RR posted a huge total of 243 runs on the back of an incredible 97 off 29 balls from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi with the help of five boundaries and twelve maximums. They were also excellent with the ball as Jofra Archer scalped 3 wickets while Burger and Ravindra Jadeja picked up 2 wickets each to clinch an emphatic win.

The Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium would be a well-balanced pitch with pace and bounce on offer. It would be good for the batters in most part of the game, as the ball would come on the bat nicely, and the quick outfield would also help in boundaries. Pacers would have to be very good with their line and length, as not much help from the pitch would be on offer.
The weather in Chandigarh is expected to remain hot and humid, with no rain predicted during the game, which means there is a full game expected on Friday. As this is an evening game, the surroundings are expected to be warm and pleasant. The temperatures are likely to hover around 27-30 °C, under mostly clear skies.

Rajasthan Royals will come into this match as the more confident side, but Gujarat Titans have the experience and ability to perform in high pressure knockout situations. With players such as Shubman Gill, Rashid Khan, Kagiso Rabada and Rahul Tewatia present in their side that are more than capable of winning games on their own, Gujarat Titans will just about have the edge over their opposition. If they have a good outing from their top order and if the bowling department manages to contain RR far better than they did the RCB then Gujarat Titans can snatch this win by a small margin.
