Praful Hinge Creates History, Joins Shoaib Akhtar, Pat Cummins & Mohammed Shami in Rare IPL Club

Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Praful Hinge delivered an outstanding spell when he shattered the batting lineup of Rajasthan Royals with four wickets in the powerplay period of the IPL 2026 match between the two sides at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad.

In reply to SRH’s 216/6, RR found themselves in serious trouble as soon as they started batting with Hinge dismissing three batsmen in his first over and one more for 4/18 in three overs during the powerplay. RR were reduced to 9/5 in three overs.

The crucial dismissals came from the likes of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Dhruv Jurel, Lhuan-dre Pretorius, and their captain Riyan Parag.

He is in the company of many legendary players, such as Shoaib Akhtar, Pat Cummins, and Mohammed Shami, who have accomplished the same. His bowling figure of 4/18 has placed him in good company of many of the greats to ever bowl during the powerplay of the tournament, one being that of Shoaib Akhtar who took 4/11 way back in 2008.

SRH Dominate After Strong Batting

Earlier in the innings SRH posted a formidable score of 216/6 thanks to a remarkable 91 off just 44 balls from Ishan Kishan. Klaasen made 40 while contributions from Nitish Kumar Reddy (28) and Salil Arora (24*) boosted the score. Jofra Archer picked up two wickets for RR.

In reply RR got off to a wobbly start however were given a hand by Ravindra Jadeja and Donovan Ferreira who looked to consolidate a good partnership, 74 off 48 by the end of 11 overs after the batting collapse.

Although the Royals are putting immense effort to stay in the game, an explosive opening spell from Praful Hinge gave SRH the upper hand.
