The Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill along with his opening partner Sai Sudharsan, became the only Indian pair with 19 fifty-plus partnerships in the Indian Premier League. They achieved the record after adding 58 runs together in the first wicket today at the MA Chidambaram Stadium against the Chennai Super Kings. During the stay, Gill scored 33 runs while Sai Su added 25.
With this, they surpassed Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan, who had 18 50+ partnerships when Ishan used to play for the Mumbai Indians.
| Players | Numbers |
| Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill | 19 |
| Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan | 18 |
| KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal | 15 |
| Gautam Gambhir and Robin Uthappa | 15 |
The partnership ended today in the seventh over when the CSK keeper Sanju Samson showed his lightning-quick reflex to collect the ball and whip off the bails while Gill's foot was momentarily in the air.

Chennai Super Kings endured a shaky start after being put in to bat, losing three wickets inside the powerplay. Sanju Samson fell for 11, edging a sharp delivery from Kagiso Rabada, while Urvil Patel and Sarfaraz Khan departed quickly to leave CSK struggling at 26/3. The early burst from Rabada (3/25) and Mohammed Siraj (1/23) put the innings under pressure.
Amid the collapse, skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad anchored the innings with a composed 74* off 60 balls, striking six fours and four sixes. However, he lacked sustained support as Dewald Brevis managed just 2, while the side crawled to 37/4 by the eighth over. Shivam Dube (22) attempted to rebuild, but wickets fell at regular intervals, restricting momentum.
Late contributions lifted CSK to 158/7, with Kartik Sharma scoring 15 off 9 and Jamie Overton smashing 18 off 6 at a strike rate of 300. In reply, Gujarat Titans chased efficiently, powered by Sai Sudharsan’s 87 off 46 and Shubman Gill’s 33. Jos Buttler remained unbeaten on 39 as GT reached 162/2 in 16.4 overs, sealing a comfortable win.
