Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka has won the toss and elected to bowl first against Pakistan in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
“We gonna bowl first. The surface looks decent and there could be some dew later in the evening. It’s important for us to get the fundamentals right and execute well across all three facets of the game tonight. Regardless of the result, the fans continue to back us, and that support gives us extra drive. We’ve made two changes. Mishara replaces Kusal Mendis, who is sidelined with an injury, and Janith comes in for Hemantha,” Dasun Shanaka said.
“Massive opportunity. If we execute properly with the bat, ball and in the field, things should fall into place. The aim is to post a good total and then keep them under pressure while defending it. Conditions can swing either way, so there’s a bit of uncertainty, but we’re clear about our approach. We’ve made three changes, with Babar Azam, Saim Ayub and Salman Mirza sitting this one out. Naseem Shah, Khawaja Nafay and Abrar Ahmed come into the XI,” Salman Agha said.
