Vaibhav Suryavanshi further solidified his reputation as a rising star during the Rajasthan Royals' six-wicket victory over the Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Friday, April 10.

While chasing a target of 202 runs, Suryavanshi lost his opening partner, Yashasvi Jaiswal, early on in the second over. But the 15-year-old quickly turned things around with a stunning display of hitting against a formidable RCB bowling lineup. The young batter from Bihar scored an impressive 78 runs off just 26 balls, smashing eight fours and seven sixes, and finished with a jaw-dropping strike rate of 300.

He eventually fell to Virat Kohli at long-on in the ninth over while attempting to clear the boundary against Krunal Pandya. By that point, though, he had already put his team in a commanding position. Even though Rajasthan lost a couple of wickets cheaply after Suryavanshi's exit, Dhruv Jurel (81*) and Ravindra Jadeja (24*) guided the team to victory in 18 overs.

Former India opener Virender Sehwag praised Suryavanshi as one of the most dangerous batters, comparing him to international stars like Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Abhishek Sharma. However, the cricketer-turned-analyst cautioned that there will come a time when fans and experts will scrutinize him for how he gets out.

"I would not call him aggressive, I'd say that he is the most dangerous batter. You look at Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Abhishek Sharma, how many batters are there that can score 78 runs in just 25-26 balls? It is not as if a child is bowling to him. When he gets out after playing such a shot, we will be the same ones who will criticise him (in the future)," Virender Sehwag said on Cricbuzz.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi showcased his immense talent with a fantastic innings, leading the Rajasthan Royals to a remarkable win over the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. His fearless approach to batting has already drawn attention, but as Virender Sehwag pointed out, he’ll need to navigate both the accolades and the inevitable criticism as he continues to develop in his career.
