Adam Sevada shines in Canada with double on CDC ProTour
Matt Heasley/PDC

Adam Sevada was the standout performer on the Championship Darts Circuit (CDC) this past weekend in Ontario, emerging as the undisputed man of the moment. The 39-year-old American claimed both the Cosmo Darts Classic and the DJD Masters, bringing his career tally to four CDC ProTour titles.

The third and fourth CDC events of the season were played over the weekend, part of the tour that offers coveted spots at the PDC World Darts Championship. First up was the Cosmo Darts Classic, where Sevada had to dig deep in a tricky opening round against Keith Way. From there, he found his rhythm, cruising past Troy Cox and Joey Lynaugh in dominant fashion.

In the quarter-finals, Sevada overcame David Cameron 6-3, before producing a superb display in the semi-finals to defeat Leonard Gates 6-2 with an impressive 103.24 average. He carried that form into the final, edging out Stowe Buntz 7-5. A key stretch of three consecutive legs in 15, 14, and 14 darts proved decisive.

Sevada returned on Sunday for the DJD Masters and once again proved untouchable. After a whitewash win over Jack Robinson, he was pushed to the brink by Ryan Vander Weit but held his nerve to take a last-leg decider. He followed that up with solid victories over Joey Lynaugh and David Cameron, averaging around 97 in both matches.

In the semi-finals, Sevada dispatched Kaidon Newberry with a comfortable 7-2 win, and he capped off a perfect weekend by once again beating Buntz in the final—this time by a 7-3 scoreline.
