Nathan Aspinall continued his impressive 2025 campaign with a second European Tour title at the weekend, defeating Australia’s Damon Heta 8–6 in the final of the European Darts Open in Leverkusen.
‘The Asp’, who also lifted the European Darts Trophy earlier this year, is now the only player to have won multiple European Tour events in 2025. His latest success sees him climb to sixth in the PDC Order of Merit — a significant milestone in his resurgence.
The European Darts Open marked the eighth stop on this year’s European Tour calendar. Aspinall has featured in six of the eight events so far and now boasts two titles to his name — a stark contrast to recent seasons.
Remarkably, prior to this year, Aspinall had played in 58 European Tour events without registering a single win. But after battling through a difficult spell that included dartitis and injury setbacks, the 33-year-old appears to be firmly back to his best.
His turnaround is as impressive as it is inspiring — and his consistency on the European stage now matches the major-winning pedigree he’s long been known for.
Fans will have to wait a few weeks before Aspinall can go for a third title. The European Tour takes a brief pause, with the next event — the Baltic Sea Darts Open — scheduled for the weekend of 11–13 July in Kiel, Germany.
Rob Cross will return to defend the title he won last year, when he edged out Luke Humphries 8–6 in a dramatic final.
Nathan Aspinall has drastically increased his winning percentage on the Euro Tour this year.
