The European Tour is back in action this September, with the 2025 Gambrinus Czech Darts Open set to take centre stage at Prague’s PVA Expo from September 5–7.

With the draw now officially unveiled, the tournament promises drama, upsets, and high-quality action as some of the sport’s biggest names prepare to battle it out on Czech soil.

Luke Humphries, the reigning champion, will begin his title defence against either Dirk van Duijvenbode or Cor Dekker in what is expected to be a competitive second-round clash. Humphries, who has shown remarkable consistency on the European Tour over recent years, will be eager to prove he can retain his crown.

The spotlight will also fall on 18-year-old world champion Luke Littler, fresh off his Euro Tour triumph in Antwerp. Littler opens against Cameron Menzies or Ian White, a first-round pairing that could already test his nerves. Littler’s combination of youthful fearlessness and clinical finishing makes him a formidable contender, and with Humphries and Michael van Gerwen also in the draw, this section of the bracket is shaping up to be one of the most eagerly watched.

Big names, big potential clashes

Several other marquee matchups are set to catch the eye. Stephen Bunting, ranked fourth, will face either Daryl Gurney or Kevin Doets, both capable of causing an upset.

Rob Cross, the 2018 world champion, has a tricky tie against either Dutch legend Raymond van Barneveld or Krzysztof Ratajski, ensuring plenty of intrigue.

Gerwyn Price has drawn Joe Cullen or Niko Springer, while James Wade, the fifth seed, faces Nathan Aspinall or a host nation qualifier.

Peter Wright, the 13th seed, will also be looking to make a statement in Prague, taking on either Ricardo Pietreczko or Benjamin Pratnemer.

Rising stars and seasoned campaigners alike populate the rest of the draw. Damon Heta meets Wessel Nijman or Richard Veenstra, Chris Dobey takes on Jermaine Wattimena or Brendan Dolan, and Jonny Clayton will battle Ryan Joyce or a host nation qualifier in the second round.

Michael van Gerwen, chasing another European Tour crown, starts against Mike De Decker or Ritchie Edhouse. Finally, Josh Rock, seeded 14th, is paired with Luke Woodhouse or William O’Connor, and Dave Chisnall faces Ryan Searle or a host nation qualifier.

With multiple former world champions, current stars, and emerging talents in the same draw, the 2025 Czech Darts Open promises to deliver the kind of high-octane matches European Tour fans have come to expect. Keep an eye on Littler’s meteoric rise, Humphries’ title defence, and the potential for fireworks from players like van Gerwen, Price, and Bunting.
