'For them to get beat they'll need to be well of their game'- Wayne Mardle is struggling to see how they don't bring the trophy home

Luke Littler and Luke Humphries are the team to beat this summer but Wayne Mardle can not see pass them winning it. The World Cup of Darts starts on the 12th of June where England will like to be back to back champions. Last season the pairing was Michael Smith and Luke Humphries, but it is the world number two who is alongside Luke Humphries this year.

"I'm not saying give them the trophy now but it's going to be ridiculous. Bear in mind it's all pairs now. It's not singles, singles, pairs."

"They've already got their shirts on and it's a wonder why they're not practicing lifting the trophy!". England have the world number 1 and number 2 starting for them, it is set for them to win it. Humphries will go for his second World Cup trophy but for Littler It will be his first.

"For them to get beat they'll need to be well of their game and someone else will have to be inspired. But who that team is I don't know."

"But what we see in the World Cup each year is that there are players we don't see week in, week out that are world class and it would be nice to unearth some more.

"But ultimately they win it, right?"

England will go straight to the second round due them being in the top 4 seeding, they will be alongside Wales- Jonny Clayton and Gerwyn Price, Scotland- Gary Anderson and Peter Wright, and Northern Ireland- Josh Rock and Daryl Gurney.

The pressure will be on England to perform, they have the best 2 players in the world and are the heavy favourites but will they handle the pressure. Tune in between the 12-15th of June to see who become the World Cup of Darts Champion.
