Last weekend the England National Singles singles tournament was played in Selsey, England. Jim McEwan and Deta Hedman managed to take the overall wins, writing a WDF tournament with silver status on their record.
On the men's side, the title went to McEwan, who ceded just three legs with wins over Josh Newton (4-0), Michael Powell (4-0), Cameron Obrien (4-0), Jason Heaver (4-2) and Reece Colley (4-1) to reach the quarterfinals.
Then the Scot had to compete against David Prins (4-3) and Bhav Patel (4-3), who were defeated only after a leg-decider. McEwan then proved too strong for Matt Clark in the final, 5-1.
Hedman took advantage of a devalued field of participants in the women's event, due to many ladies attending the PDC Women's Series tournaments. Hedman handled Kelly Ellis (4-0), Abbi Ettridge (4-0), Jo Rolls (4-0), Sophie McKinlay (4-2) and Eve Watson (5-3).
