Peter Wright has promised that if they meet England in the final of the World Cup of Darts that they will show them they mean business as the narrative has been that Luke Littler and Luke Humphries almost have it won before a dart is thrown this Thursday.
Wright will team once again with Gary Anderson who he said to DartsNews in Leverkusen he looks up to massively and that he still has that fire and desire to represent his country.
He has only won it once though with Anderson back in 2019. Due to their ranking they will start in the second round, he has also won it in 2021 famously with John Henderson but is ready for another title tilt.
"I'm getting ready for the Matchplay and getting ready for the World's and obviously ready for the World Cup. Me and Gaz. Practice is going good but I just want it to show up there," said Wright to DartsNews.
"You ask any player representing their country and to play with one of the greatest Scottish darts players in Gary Anderson, it's special. He puts nerves in me because I look up to him. He's brilliant."
With the narrative of the two Luke's, Wright has a simple message in letting the media and broadcasters pedal the narrative about the dream team.
With both pairs unable to meet until the final, he said that they will show them if they get to that point in the tournament. Fighting talk from "Snakebite' who no doubt will be hungry to win yet another World Cup and dampen the fairytale of the two best in the world right now teaming together for the first time.
"Let them speak about them two, potentially we don't meet until the final. Hopefully we meet in the final and we can show who's boss."
