Michael van Gerwen withdraws from Nordic Darts Masters; Premier League player replaces him in Copenhagen

Michael van Gerwen has officially withdrawn from the Nordic Darts Masters. This World Series tournament will be played in the Danish capital of Copenhagen on Friday, June 6 and Saturday, June 7.

The withdrawal of "Mighty Mike" comes as no surprise. Van Gerwen announced in late May that his marriage to Daphne had come to an end and that he would not play tournaments for the time being to focus on settling the divorce properly.

Van Gerwen's spot in Denmark will be taken over by Chris Dobey. 'Hollywood', along with Stephen Bunting, Jonny Clayton, Luke Littler, Nathan Aspinall, Rob Cross, Chris Dobey, Gerwyn Price and Luke Humphries, make up the list of PDC top players at the Nordic Darts Masters.
