Stephen Bunting has become known as 'The People's Champion' in the sport of darts over the last few years, earning widespread acclaim from fans for his personality as much as his darting ability. In a real show of class, Bunting has now once again proven to be one of the sport's genuine nice guys.
In a bid to raise money and awareness for the son of former PDC Tour Card holder Danny Baggish, Bunting is setting up a charity auction to give away one of his match worn shirts, with all proceeds going to 'The Gambler'.
"Many of the darts family will be aware of the name Danny Baggish but many of you will be unaware of the agonising time him, his partner Nikki, and his family are currently going through, something no family should have to suffer," begins a heartfelt post from Bunting on his social media. "Behind Truen’s smiling face is a boy who is fighting for his life with an extremely rare and aggressive form of leukaemia. With time and options running out funds are being raised to attend a new, renowned, oncologist who is out of the area that their insurance would normally cover."
"I normally keep my used match winning shirts as a special momentum, but I have made an exception for this as Danny, Nikki and Truen are going through such a tough time and I just wanted to be able to help raise a bit of awareness and some money towards the help of all the costs and travel involved with Truen’s care," Bunting continues. "I’m going to do £10 a go for my Nordic Darts Masters shirt. You can have as many go’s as you like. This will be done on a random number generator - Winner to be announced on my socials after the New York Master’s event. All money will be given to Danny Baggish and family."
If you'd like to help out Bunting's auction and in turn support Baggish in family, 'The Bullet' has also shared the details to do so. "Payment:
