Watch: Footage emerges of protesters thrown out of Women's World Matchplay ahead of Noa-Lynn van Leuven match
Kieran Cleeves/PDC

Noa-Lynn van Leuven is making a return to the Winter Gardens for the third year in her career in 2025, but the leading trans darter's presence has sadly not been without incident, as seen first hand by Dartsnews.com.

As the Dutch star made her walk-on ahead of her quarter-final match against Lorraine Winstanley, four "Save Women's Sport" protesters attempted to interrupt proceedings. Wearing message laden tops and trying to show off anti-trans propaganda, two of the trio were quickly tackled by security as the third and fourth attempted to film the proceedings.

As seen first hand by Dartsnews.com, the protesters were dragged away, quite literally kicking and screaming, in a vein attempt to relay their message, before security finally managed to drag all of the perpetrators out of the Winter Gardens.

The scuffle didn't seem to effect Van Leuven's performance in the slightest however, as she powered to a 4-0 win over Lorraine Winstanley, moving through to the semifinals in Blackpool. In the semifinals though, Van Leuven came unstuck, losing a nail-biting last leg decider to Fallon Sherrock.

UPDATE

The video taken of the incident from protesters has now emerged online, and you can see the incident for yourself in the video down below!

In a separate post to X explaining their actions, the protesters, who reposted Dartsnews.com's own article, said the following: "Of course we are the bad women - not the man pretending to be a woman. #NoaLynnVanLoevenIsAMan

Also there were four of us and two simply sat down with cameras. Two of us stood up and were immediately removed. With extreme violence."
