Stephen Bunting has been competing at the top of the darts world for quite some time. The 40-year-old Englishman has, in recent years, become a true fans’ favourite. His TikTok videos regularly rack up huge viewing figures, and in arenas across the circuit he’s greeted with loud, passionate chants.

Bunting – the 2014 BDO World Champion and 2024 PDC Masters winner – currently sits fourth in the world rankings. Thanks to his likeable personality, he’s in constant demand for interviews and light-hearted media features. We already know plenty about “The Bullet”, but the Daily Mail recently put a few unusual questions to him.

The format was simple: Bunting was presented with a series of dilemmas, each forcing him to choose between something distinctly American or quintessentially British.

Philly cheesesteak or bacon sandwich?

“Bacon sandwich.”
Burger and fries or fish and chips? “Fish and chips.”
Starbucks or a cup of tea? “Starbucks.”
Bud Light or Carling? “Bud Light.”
Yellow taxi or black cab? “Black cab.”
Madison Square Garden or Ally Pally? “Well, I’ve not played MSG yet (Q&A clearly from before Bunting played at the US Darts Masters earlier this year ed.), so I’m going to have to say Ally Pally.”
Yankee Stadium or Anfield? “Anfield.”
Will Ferrell or Rowan Atkinson? “Will Ferrell.”
Taylor Swift or Ed Sheeran “As in music? Ed Sheeran.”
Donald Trump or Keir Starmer? “Well, if I’ve got to choose… neither.”

Bunting will be back in action this coming weekend at the New Zealand Darts Masters – the seventh and final event of the 2025 World Series of Darts. Having already won the Bahrain Darts Masters and the Nordic Darts Masters earlier this year, he currently tops the World Series Order of Merit. The season will conclude with the World Series of Darts Finals from 12–14 September.
