The Englishmen is a World Darts Championship title winner, a Grand Slam of Darts title winner, and a World Cup of Darts title winner partnering with Luke Humphries in 2024. Michael Smith deserves to still be playing in the major competitions but will he find his form again.

"What a massive blow it could be for Michael Smith. There are 5 events to go before the cut off and he is places 4 spots outside of the 16 that will qualify," said Stuart Pyke on the Love the Darts Podcast.

"Michael Smith needs to be on the big stage, he's a player that plays better with the bigger crowds, we need to have him back".

"Smith thinks he is starting to play okay, he just needs that breakthrough, he went on a better form in the Euro Tour then lost 6-0 to Luke Humphries."

"It's a crucial few weeks or month for him to get to Blackpool. Blackpool can be a changing point for him. he must get there." He is set to be able to play In the Grande Prix in Leicester but will he get to play in Blackpool later on this year.

Smith plays at 8pm today against Andreas Harrysson whose ranking is 137, in the European tour 8 to try and higher his merit in a time where every game has become a must win.
