As the spring season begins to bloom, music lovers are getting ready to attend some of the year's hottest festivals. Although the headliners are the stars of the show, festivals allow fans to discover rising stars in the making. Music weekends such as Coachella, Governors Ball, Afropunk, BottleRock and Firefly feature a number of artists whom fans shouldn't miss. Here are 15 of them who should be on the radar during this year's festival scene.

Up-and-coming rapper Tierra Whack made waves in 2018 with her debut album, "Whack World." The project garnered critical acclaim for being formatted with 15 tracks, each one only a minute in length. After touring with 6LACK, she’s ready to take the festival circuit by storm.

Singer Kane Brown made history back in 2017 after he reached No.1 on all five country music charts simultaneously. He followed up in 2018 with his second album, "Experiment," which peaked on the Billboard 200. For country music lovers, Brown will play a set at Stagecoach.

There’s no doubt about it that Ella Mai held records for one of the biggest songs in 2018: “Boo’d Up.” The DJ Mustard protégé secured a win for Best R&B Song at the 2019 Grammy Awards, and she’s showing no signs of slowing down. Along with her current tour schedule, she’ll be taking her R&B hits to Coachella.

Idris Elba is known for taking over Hollywood with his acting roles in the HBO series "The Wire" and blockbuster films like "The Avengers." Therefore, it was quite a surprise when he was listed on this year’s Coachella lineup. However, Elba is also a rapper and DJ, who was booked for spinning tunes at the Royal Wedding. Time will only tell if his music career is just as lucrative as his acting career.
