20 musicians you forgot spent time on reality television

Toni Braxton is a legend with two No. 1 hits and several exceptional albums, but she isn't the only one in her family with musical talent. In fact, she and her four sisters showed off their impressive vocal skills in the first seven seasons of their reality show, Braxton Family Values. 

Kelly Rowland, who's known for her time in Destiny's Child, didn't star on your traditional reality TV show; however, she did appear on a few seasons as a judge on popular competition shows (which have a reality feel), including The X Factor and The Voice.

Usher has also appeared as a guest on a few competition shows, such as Dancing With the Stars and The Voice: Australia, but in 2013-14, the singer spent time as one of the main coaches on The Voice.

With Cardi B's many hits, like "WAP" and "Bodak Yellow," it could be easy to forget the rapper first rose to fame after becoming one of the breakout stars on Love & Hip Hop on VH1.

In my opinion, Ray J is a better reality star than he is a singer, and I love him for that. He's given fans of unscripted TV several memorable moments on Love & Hip Hop, A Family Business, and College Hill: Celebrity Edition.

50 Cent has been creating captivating TV shows, and his throwback reality show, The Money and the Power, is another product of that. It followed a format similar to that of The Apprentice, except there was much more drama and $100,000 on the line.

Rev Run's reality show, Run's House, will live in the hearts of RUN DMC fans forever.

Kandi Burruss rose to fame after singing in the group Xscape; however, her career experienced a resurgence after she starred in Bravo's series The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Since then, the entertainer has been the face of several different unscripted series, including The Kandi Factory and Kandi & The Gang. 

Jennifer Hudson's resume is so stacked that it could be easy to forget the Dreamgirls star spent time as a coach and judge on The Voice.

Tamar's family show, Braxton Family Values, isn't the only reality show the Grammy-nominated singer has appeared on. She won her season of Celebrity Big Brother and starred in a spin-off show, Tamar & Vince, and College Hill: Celebrity Edition.

Shamari DeVoe was the lead singer of the group Blaque, which sang catchy tunes like "Bring It All To Me" and "As If." In 2018, Shamari tried something different and filmed a season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta before realizing the series wasn't her type of fun. She returned to reality in 2021 in the BET series The Encore, where she formed a new girl group with singers Kiely Williams from The Cheetah Girls and Felisha and Fallon from Cherish.

Who can forget about Flavor Flav and his show Flavor of Love? Even though it was quite messy and the antithesis of demure, it birthed the iconic Tiffany "New York" Pollard.

Nick Jonas has done a lot of work on TV, like Jonas and Kingdom. But he also has his fair share of unscripted credits thanks to his time on The Voice and The X Factor.

Kevin has done a lot of scripted work alongside his brother, Nick, and Joe. However, he had a reality show of his own with his wife, Danielle, titled Married To Jonas. In the past, Danielle and Kevin spoke about almost joining Bravo's The Real Housewives of New Jersey, saying she had to turn the series down because she's too sensitive.

Keyshia Cole has released six top-10 albums since debuting in 2005. In between singing and touring, the Grammy-nominated singer also found time to film a few different reality shows, including Love & Hip Hop, and her own shows, The Way It Is and All In. 

Tiny, who once sang alongside Kandi in Xscape and has writing credits on big hits like "Shape Of You" and "No Scrubs," has been filming reality TV for years. She and her husband, T.I., starred in their family show, The Family Hustle, and in 2023, she appeared in the Bravo series The Queens of R&B.

Although we love JoJo's version of "Weak," we can't let you forget that it's an SWV original first released in 1993. In 2023, they appeared alongside Xscape, Kandi, and Tiny in the show Queens of R&B. The show's six episodes followed both groups rehearsing for their joint tour of the same name while navigating personal and professional challenges.

Even though Britney Spears slammed Ozzy and his family for being boring, their family reality show, The Osbournes, was pretty entertaining during its run from 2002 to 2005.

Jessica Simpson's relationship with Nick Lachey was drama from the moment they started dating in 1998 until their divorce in 2006, and thankfully, for fans of messy drama, it was all captured on their reality show, Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica.
