With Ahsoka Season 2 on the way, fans are wondering which familiar faces will make appearances. We already have confirmation that Hayden Christensen will be returning as Anakin Skywalker, and fans were doubly excited when they heard that Ewan McGregor confirmed that he would be reprising his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi.

However, did he really confirm it?

Is Ewan McGregor in Ahsoka Season 2?

According to Bleedingcool.com, Ewan McGregor was at Fan Expo Boston, where he was asked about his favorite Star Wars project that he himself wasn’t in, and he discussed how his wife, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, plays Hera Syndulla in Ahsoka. He said, “Well, I like watching my wife, you know, so I really enjoyed ‘Ahsoka.’ I thought that was brilliantly done. It’s so funny, like, you know, she’s shooting the second season now, and I know… is that a secret?” This got some people thinking that he was going to be in Ahsoka Season 2.

However . . .

To the dismay of many fans, McGregor was only talking about his wife. He added on, “And so I just finished doing a play. So I’m at home with our son, who’s four, and I take him to school and everything. And then I’m, you know, bumbling around the house, and I’d fetch a FaceTime. I forget that she’s going to be green, you know. She pops up, and I’m like, ‘Oh my God, oh yes.’ You know, often she’s in her trailer without all the head stuff on, but she’s just green, you know. She’s a very beautiful green lady, so. I love that.” This clearly indicates that McGregor is not on set with his wife.

Should Fans Give Up Hope That Obi-Wan Will Be In Ahsoka Season 2?

For now, the fans shouldn’t get their hopes up that Obi-Wan will make a surprise appearance, especially given that McGregor mentioned Ahsoka as a project that he wasn’t in. The fans can look forward to seeing Anakin Skywalker and Ezra Bridger again, but they will probably hold out hope that Obi-Wan’s ghost will still make a cameo. There is, after all, always a chance that McGregor will be snuck onto the set for one episode.
