Cardi B reveals she was 'supposed to be on a record' with BTS: 'I like BTS a lot'

Turns out, BTS and Cardi B have an instant chart-topper in their back pocket.

Cardi B, 29, will host the American Music Awards on Sunday (Nov. 21)—her hosting debut—and gave Variety an interview in the days leading up to the big night. 

"I like BTS a lot, but let me tell you something," the diamond-certified rapper shared when asked if she's a fan of the world-dominant, record-shattering K-pop group. "My daughter [three-year-old Kulture] likes BTS a lot a lot. Like, 'Mommy, mommy, put [on] the song.' And it’s like, I already know what she’s talking about."

And then Cardi B dropped a bombshell when asked if she would ever collaborate with BTS: "Maybe. I was supposed to be on a record with them, but I had just released a record and then it was going to smash with the time. But I love them."

BTS and Cardi are each nominated three times at this year's American Music Awards and will perform twice on the AMA stage—one with Coldplay for their collaborative single "My Universe" and another with Megan Thee Stallion for their collaborative "Butter" remix.

The American Music Awards will air live from Los Angeles' Microsoft Theater beginning at 8 p.m. EST.
