Ethan Hawke haunts from beyond the grave in 'The Black Phone 2' trailer

The phone is ringing for Finn once again and it appears that he has no choice but to answer. The Black Phone and Ethan Hawke’s horrifying mask resonated with fans so much that Blumhouse decided to make it a franchise. In the trailer for The Black Phone 2, Finn and Gwen face off against the Grabber (who seems more alive after death) again in a snowy, bloody camp setting.

This clip is very, very good, actually. From its switching back and forth between grainy images, dreams, reality, and nightmares to the Grabber becoming a wraith of sorts, there’s a lot to chew on. It’s cool to see this story continue on with the same characters and build on their storylines, especially Gwen’s powerful dreams.

Here’s a plot synopsis to go with the trailer for The Black Phone 2:

As Finn, now 17, struggles with life after his captivity, the headstrong 15-year-old Gwen begins receiving calls in her dreams from the black phone and seeing disturbing visions of three boys being stalked at a winter camp known as Alpine Lake.

Determined to solve the mystery and end the torment for both her and her brother, Gwen persuades Finn to visit the camp during a winter storm. There, she uncovers a shattering intersection between The Grabber and her own family’s history. Together, she and Finn must confront a killer who has grown more powerful in death and more significant to them than either could imagine.

**What Is the Release Date for The Black Phone 2?**

Poor Finn and Gwen can’t catch a break. I bet they will never want to hear a phone ring again after they figure out how to get rid of the Grabber. How do you kill a seemingly unkillable killer? We will have to see when The Black Phone 2 hits theaters on October 17.
