Gushers’ FRUITHEAD Horror Film Revives Your ’90s Nightmares

If you were a kid in the ‘90s, then you totally remember Gushers fruit snacks. Were they actually tasty? For a child, yes. I’m not sure that any of us would want to revisit that super sweet and oozy piece of nostalgia. Speaking of nostalgia, the commercials where kids would eat a gusher and their heads would turn into a fruit is a weird piece of pop culture that we will never forget. Now, decades later, Gushers is bringing back those creepy images in FruitHead, a short horror film that just arrived for your Nerdoween pleasure. Check out the entire film below:

The FruitHead Gushers horror movie (directed by Mike Diva) stars Bradley Whitford as a TV commercial director who cursed a young actor from the ’90s ad to live life as a FruitHead. That actor is played by viral creator Chester Collins, who aims to seek revenge as an adult.

“The Fruitheads ad has lived rent-free in the heads of Gushers fans for nearly 30 years, and they still can’t stop talking about it on social media,” said Stephanie Lensing, Brand Experience Manager for Gushers at General Mills. “So, this Halloween, we’re finally giving them what they want with a reimagining of that ’90s ad with thrills and a bit of the humor our fans love from Gushers.”

There are also theater boxes of Gushers that you can buy at a store near you to snack on while you watch this horror flick. Yummm.
