Jamie Foxx reportedly set to star in Mike Tyson limited series

The Mike Tyson-approved biographical series is beginning to take shape.

According to Variety, a limited series titled Tyson  will star Jamie Foxx as the legendary yet controversial boxer, while Martin Scorcese is attached as an executive producer alongside Foxx through Sikelia Productions and Antoine Fuqua expected to direct.

Foxx first teased his transformation into Tyson with this Instagram post last June:

Tyson provided a statement: "I have been looking to tell my story for quite some time. With the recent launch of Legends Only League and the excitement from fans following my return to the ring, now feels like the perfect moment. I look forward to collaborating with Martin, Antoine, Jamie, and the entire creative team to bring audiences a series that not only captures my professional and personal journey but also inspires and entertains."

In late February, the 54-year-old voiced his severe dissatisfaction with Hulu's forthcoming "unauthorized" eight-part series about "the wild, tragic and controversial life and career ... [of] one of the most polarizing figures in sports culture".

Hulu's project, titled Iron Mike, will come from screenwriter Steven Rogers as well as executive producer and director Craig Gillespie, who worked together on I, Tonya

Tyson, conversely, does not yet have a home with a network or streaming service.
