'Jurassic World Rebirth' star Scarlett Johansson reveals that Bryce Dallas Howard reached out to her about "joining the Jurassic family"

Jurassic World Rebirth star Scarlett Johansson received a warm welcome to the franchise from Jurassic World's Bryce Dallas Howard. In an interview with PEOPLE, the actress explained, "When I first got cast, Bryce Dallas Howard reached out to me and was so excited. She wrote me a whole long email about her experience and how wonderful the fans were and how that was part of the excitement, joining the Jurassic family and having these fans for life."

Howard co-starred with Chris Pratt in 2015's Jurassic World, 2018's Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and 2022's Jurassic World Dominion. Each movie in the trilogy has surpassed $1 billion at the global box office.

Five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.

"I've worked with, I think, basically everyone [from the original]," Johansson commented, referring to Laura Dern, who "was also so pumped" about her role as Zora Bennett, Jeff Goldblum, Sam Neill, and Samuel L. Jackson.

Meanwhile, Jonathan Bailey, who plays paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis, just recently starred alongside Goldblum in 2024's Wicked, which has its sequel releasing this November. What advice did he have? "[To] just have a great time," Bailey shared, before adding that the original Jurassic Park cast members were "all just incredible, iconic actors."

Jurassic World Rebirth will be released in theaters on July 2. Mahershala Ali, Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Luna Blaise, David Iacono, Audrina Miranda, Philippine Velge, Bechir Sylvain, and Ed Skrein also join for the new era.
